How to provide QR codes to your restaurant ordering page

Once you have set up the WooCommerce Restaurant Ordering plugin, you need to make it easy for customers to reach your food ordering page. As well as publishing links to your website, QR codes are a good way to do this.

You can generate a QR code which links directly to the food ordering page on your website. You can then make this available to your customers so that they can easily scan it using their iPhone or other smartphone. This is easier for customers than typing your website address into their mobile and then navigating to the food ordering page.

For example:

  • You can add the QR code to takeaway menus, posters, leaflets and coupons.
  • If customers are ordering from their table while maintaining social distancing from the waiting staff, then you can print a QR code on a laminated sheet of paper and leave one on each table. Customers scan the QR code and order food from your website, to be delivered to the table. (Read our tutorial about how to let customers order food for dining in from their cellphones.)

You can easily generate QR codes using a free service like Uniqode or QR Code Monkey. Paste the URL of your restaurant ordering page, generate the QR code, download the PNG file, and then print it as needed.
