Can I create a completely private wholesale store?

You can use the WooCommerce Wholesale Pro plugin to run a wholesale area alongside your public shop, or you can create a 100% private wholesale store with no public shop. There are 2 ways to do this:

Use WooCommerce Wholesale Pro alone

Set the visibility of each product category to 'Wholesale only'. This ensures that only logged in users can access the wholesale store page, or any of your product categories or their products.

(Tip: If you have sub-categories, you can leave these set to Public and just change the visibility of the parent category. The sub-categories will be hidden automatically.)

This will prevent public customers from seeing any of your products, but it won't hide links to other WooCommerce content such as the shop page that is created by WooCommerce itself, the cart or checkout. To hide these elements, we recommend using WooCommerce Wholesale Pro with WooCommerce Private Store (see below).

Add WooCommerce Private Store

The most secure way to add a completely private wholesale store is to use WooCommerce Wholesale Pro with our other plugin, WooCommerce Private Store:

  • Use WooCommerce Wholesale Pro to add the wholesale registration process and to create multiple user roles with different pricing for each role, and;
  • Use WooCommerce Private Store to hide your entire shop from public view.

Your other pages - for example, the homepage and bog - remain public as usual. No one will know that your website contains a wholesale store.

Make WooCommerce private in less than 2 minutes.

How to set it up

  1. Set up WooCommerce Wholesale Pro as usual. (Don't bother setting the category visibility options, as WooCommerce Private Store will take care of this automatically.)
  2. Install WooCommerce Private Store and enable the 'Logged In Users' option on the plugin settings page. Select all your wholesale roles so that only these roles can access the shop features.
