How to use Barn2 Bundles & Bulk Discounts with other types of discount

When you create discounts using the Barn2 Bundles & Bulk Discounts app, the discounts are also created inside Shopify automatically. Because of this, Barn2 discounts follow Shopify's own discount rules and system. This means that:

  • All discounts made in the Barn2 app will appear on the Shopify Discounts page at Shopify Admin → Discounts (they will also appear in the Barn2 Bundles & Bulk Discounts section of the Shopify admin.
  • Shopify treats the discounts from our app the same as normal Shopify discounts.
  • The discounts from our app are compatible with most other discount types. We explain this in more detail below.

Discount combination settings explained

By default, discounts created by Barn2 Bundles & Bulk Discounts are allowed to work with other discount types, such as:

  • Product discounts
  • Order discounts
  • Shipping discounts

On the Shopify Discounts page, you will see three icons beside each discount. If these icons are enabled, it means the discount can combine with product, order, and shipping discounts.

For discounts created in our app, these options are already enabled by default. This can help the app work properly with other discount apps.

Why discounts from two apps sometimes do not work together

If discounts from Barn2's app and another app are not combined, the issue is generally not caused by our app because of the way it integrates with Shopify's native discounts.

Check the discount that you created using the other app in Shopify → Discounts. If the combination options are disabled there, then Shopify will not allow that discount to stack with others. This is how Shopify works, and it is not a bug or issue from Barn2.

Troubleshooting steps

If discounts are not stacking correctly, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to Shopify → Discounts.
  2. Look for the discount created by the other app.
  3. Open the discount details.
  4. Check the combination settings.
  5. Make sure product, order, and shipping options are enabled.
  6. Save your changes.
  7. After enabling these options, the discounts should now work together properly. If not, please contact us or the owner of the other app for support.
