How to add a sale badge to your Shopify store pages

When using Barn2 Bundles & Bulk Discounts, depending on your theme, Shopify may show a "Sale" badge on your product or collection pages - but this might not always be relevant to the type of discount you're offering.

For example, if you’re offering bulk pricing, then a more relevant label like "Buy More & Save" could better communicate the offer. You can easily update this in most Shopify themes.

Change the wording of the sale badge

To customize the text that appears on your product badges:

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
  2. Next to your active theme, click the ••• (three dots) menu.
  3. Select 'Edit default theme content'.
  4. Use the search box to find the wording for the sale badge (usually under the 'Products' section).
  5. Update the text - e.g. change "On Sale" to "Buy More & Save" or any other wording that matches your offer.
  6. Click Save.

💡 Note: The exact label might vary depending on your theme - it could be called “on sale”, “sale badge”, or similar.

Change the design of the sale badge

If you’d like to change how the badge looks (e.g. color, font, shape):

  1. Go to Online Store → Themes in your Shopify admin.
  2. Click 'Customize'* next to your current theme.
  3. In the theme editor, open 'Theme settings'* from the left-hand menu.
  4. Look for a section called 'Badges', 'Product Labels', or similar.
  5. Customize the design as needed - for example, change the badge color to match your brand or make it more prominent.
  6. Click 'Save' when you’re done.

If your theme doesn’t support visual customization of badges, you may need to edit your theme’s CSS or contact your theme developer for guidance.
