This privacy page describes how we protect the privacy of our Shopify app users. We have a separate privacy policy for this website.
What information do you collect through Shopify’s APIs?
When you install one of our Shopify apps, we collect and store related information such as your store ID, store timezone, store currency, store owner's name, and email.
What information do you collect directly from the merchant?
During the app installation process, we only collect the merchant's name and email address. This is standard for all Shopify apps.
App-specific data
Some of our apps also store additional information, which is needed in order for the app to work correctly:
- Barn2 Bundles & Bulk Discounts:
- When you create a discount, we store the ID's of which products and collections the discount should be used on.
- We also store the number and value of orders which contain discounted products. This information is used to display the analytics in the app dashboard so that you can see how your discounts are performing.
What information do you collect directly from merchants’ customers?
We do not collect any information relating to your customers. We don't add cookies, and we don't store any information about how they use or navigate your website.
How do you use the information you collect? Do you use this information for any purposes other than providing your app’s services?
We use the information described above for the following purposes:
- To provide the discount-related features of the app and ensure that it works correctly.
- Like many Shopify apps, we use third-party services - Mantle and Mixpanel - to collect anonymized, non-identifiable usage data. This data helps us understand general usage patterns, identify usability issues, and enhance the overall app experience.
- Mantle also enables us to detect when a store might be encountering difficulties at specific stages of the app setup. In such instances, we may proactively reach out to offer assistance and support. Importantly, we do not access or use any store-specific data for this purpose - only high-level usage indicators (e.g. an incomplete step after a certain period). If you prefer not to receive these support messages, you can opt out at any time by contacting us at support@barn2.com.
For how long do you store or retain the data that you collect?
We keep the data that we collect for as long as you continue to use our app. Once you uninstall the app, an uninstall webhook request is sent to our app and our app which will remove all related data from your store.
Are you established in Europe? Are you storing or processing information outside of Europe?
While our company - Barn2 Media Limited - is registered in the UK, our apps are hosted on Fly.io's servers and the managed database location is set to the USA.
