Adventure Graphics were asked to redesign Rutland Sheds for the company's 40th anniversary. The agency needed a way to handle one of the most complex product configurators they had ever built. With WooCommerce Product Options, they built a guided buying experience that has driven a 300% increase in online sales.
The challenge: an overwhelming legacy configurator
The previous Rutland Sheds website was built on OpenCart. Stacked dropdown menus overwhelmed customers, and the backend required a separate price for every possible combination. For a single Apex Shed, that meant managing a table of over 200 prices.
"Updating their pricing was a very confusing and time consuming process," said Dan Birch, lead web designer at Adventure Graphics. The site was also outdated visually and structured poorly for SEO. As a result, both organic traffic and online sales were suffering.
The solution: a guided configurator with conditional logic
Adventure Graphics rebuilt the site from scratch in Elementor and chose WooCommerce Product Options for the configurator. Before purchasing, Dan reached out to Barn2's support team to check some functionality. "We were blown away by their detailed guidance," he said. "Your support played a major factor in purchasing the plugin too."
Rather than showing every option at once, Dan used conditional logic to reveal one step at a time. He also mixed dropdowns, radio buttons, and block buttons depending on what made sense for each choice. Pricing for extras now adjusts automatically based on the shed size selected. Customers only ever see relevant options and accurate prices.
The beauty of Barn2's Product Options plugin is the multiple ways the information can be showcased. It allows the customer to navigate through the options without showing them all at once.

The results: a 300% increase in online sales
Since the new site went live in December 2025, Rutland Sheds has seen an extraordinary jump in online sales. The store previously took around four online orders a year. In the months since launch, that figure has already climbed to thirteen.
Combined with a custom shipping calculator and improved SEO, the new site has also driven 14,000 page views. Contact form enquiries have risen significantly too. Dan's team is equally impressed by how easy the plugin is to hand off to clients. Rutland Sheds can now manage pricing on the backend without help from the agency.
"It is a very powerful and cost-effective tool with 16+ field types, 9 price options, and conditional logic to control the customer journey," said Dan. "We will absolutely utilise this and Barn2's other plugins for future projects."
For any web designer building product configurators, this case study shows how the right plugin can transform a complex buying journey into a smooth experience.
