Document Library Pro now works with Wix

Document Library Pro is now available as a document library for Wix, live on the Wix App Market, so Wix site owners can add a searchable, filterable file library to their site.

Document Library Pro is a searchable document library that organizations use to publish and share files on their website. It began on WordPress, and we have since brought it to more platforms. Wix is the newest.

From WordPress plugin to cross-platform document libraries

We've been selling Document Library Pro for around five years. It started as a WordPress plugin for people who needed a better way to publish files than a basic downloads page.

A couple of months ago, we launched a hosted version that works on any website, whatever platform it runs on. Then we released a Shopify app. Now, Document Library Pro for Wix brings the same library engine to Wix sites.

The Wix app runs on the same document library engine as the WordPress plugin and the hosted version, so it arrives as a mature product from the start.

Why build a document library for Wix and other platforms?

We looked closely at who uses Document Library Pro across the 13,000-plus websites running it. The same organizations came up again and again:

• Nonprofits and charities.
• Health clinics and organizations.
• Councils and government bodies.
• Membership and professional associations.

We found that a large share of these organizations do not run WordPress. They use Wix, Squarespace, Google Sites, intranets, or custom systems. As a result, we chose to bring the same document library to the platform a customer already uses.

Across those sites, we see teams use Document Library Pro for focused internal libraries and public resource hubs. One customer runs a members-only board library where directors upload their own meeting minutes, while another publishes around 1,000 research PDFs that visitors filter by publication year.

For Wix users, that means they can now add a document library to a Wix site with search, category filters, date filters, file type filters, file previews, downloads, and public or restricted access. Which platform should get document libraries next?
