What happens for products where all the variations are the same price?

The main purpose of the WooCommerce Variation Prices plugin is to replace the price range which is displayed for products that have variations with different prices. Generally, it doesn't affect products where all variations are the same price because there is no price range to change. However, there is one exception.

If you select the Custom option for your variation price format, you will have two different text fields defining your own format of a price range and of same-price variations, respectively. For example, you could define the format of price ranges as "from %min% to %max% + tax" and the format of single prices as "%min% + tax".

When you do this, the variation prices will be displayed as follows:

  • The format that you entered in the "Custom format for products with different variation prices" field will be used for products which have variations with different prices.
  • The format that you entered in the "Custom format when all prices are the same" field will be used for products where all the variations have the same price.
  • If the "Hide the main price on the single product page until a variation is selected" option is enabled then the same-price format will be used on the single product page when a variation is selected.
  • If the "Update the main price when a variation is selected" option is enabled then the same-price format will be displayed when a variation is selected.
